Fish fryer
The fish and chips restaurant was built on the old foundations of a health resort that was located here in the 19th century.
In the 16th century, there was a water mill here, powered by the nearby Rybna stream, then it was transformed
into an inn. Further expanded as
the hotel-restaurant with promenades enjoyed great fame until around 1945 as a place of recreation and relaxation
of a spa character.
After World War II, the complex became a residential building, which was soon destroyed, and in 1960 it was demolished.
The wooden cottage located opposite the Sudecka Gospoda is a fish fryery.
On warm and sunny days, regulars of Smażalnia Dolina Rybnej like to spend their time
in the open air, in the comfortable and cozy seats of the Summer Garden, and while waiting for the meal, they walk and admire the picturesque views, resting by one of the
from ponds or in gazebos.

HISTORY OF THE INN
The Sudeten Fish Valley Inn /formerlyErnst Heilmann's Warenhandlung, Heilmann Gasthaus
It is one of the most beautiful examples of Sudeten architecture, in which three hundred-year-old log walls of a log-and-tree brick structure have been preserved to this day.
The building was erected in 1713,
as evidenced by the date carved in the stone that formed the former entrance portal.
Initially there was an inn here,
which was transformed at the end of the 18th century
into a residential house. Inhabited by the Heilmann family, who were engaged in agriculture, processing and timber trade.
It was also a place to rest and sell meals to tourists.

After World War II, the Heilmann family was forced to leave the farm,
which the Jakubiec family lived in,
and in 1952 the Urbaniak family.
Around 2000, the current owner, Walerian Urbaniak, decided to redevelop the property.
house and thus the Gospoda Sudecka Doliny Rybnej was created, in which the guest rooms were located on the first floor, while the ground floor was arranged into a banquet room, i.e. a buffet and a guest room as well as catering facilities. The interior design reflects the tradition of the Sudetes region, created through the collected memorabilia creating a mini open-air museum, where you can see a centrifuge, an old device for making butter and a number of devices needed
in the household.

Gospoda Sudecka in Literature and Film
Regional architecture of inns and hostels in the Wałbrzych region
The book discusses the regional architecture of inns and shelters located in the Central Sudetes in the Wałbrzych region. It presents the history and development of tourism in this area and the origins, contemporary history and timeless beauty of the native form of these facilities.
In the Wałbrzych region, a type of wooden architecture crystallized and has been dominant for centuries, in which the post-and-beam, log and half-timbered wall structures were the basic parts of the whole. The inns and hostels preserved to this day testify to the skill of the old carpenters and woodcarvers, as well as their sense of form and building detail.
